St Martin's sits on the eastern side of Basildon, one of the newer parts of the new town. The housing here includes some 1970s and 80s builds alongside later additions. It is close to the A132 and not far from the town centre. There is a local primary school and some small green spaces. Like much of Basildon, it is a car-oriented suburb where the housing is affordable by Essex standards and the c2c line gets you into the City in under 40 minutes.
