RG24 8 / RG27 0
A large residential development on the north-eastern side of Basingstoke, built from the 1980s onwards. Chineham has its own shopping centre with a Sainsbury's, a library, and a decent range of shops, which gives it more self-sufficiency than most Basingstoke estates. The business park next door means some people can walk to work, which is unusual for the area. Housing is typical of its era: lots of red brick detached and semis. Chineham Park and the Loddon river path are good for walking and cycling. Popular with families and commuters who like having their own little bubble without needing to go into the town centre.
