Popley

One of the biggest estates in Basingstoke, on the north side of town. The original Popley was built in the 1960s as London overspill and has that classic council estate layout. Popley Fields is the newer extension to the east, built from the 2000s, which is more typical new-build family housing. Old Popley has a community centre, local shops, and a reputation for being one of the harder parts of town, though it is improving. Popley Fields feels like a different place entirely. If you are looking here, the old and new sections are genuinely different propositions.
