Chalfont St Peter is a large village that still has a proper centre with a butcher, a deli, a few pubs, and a community feel. Housing is a mix of 1930s semis, some larger detached places, and newer developments on the edges. It doesn't have its own station so you're driving to Gerrards Cross or Seer Green for the train, which makes a car pretty essential. The Misbourne Valley runs through and there's good walking in the surrounding countryside. It's affluent but less showy than Beaconsfield or Gerrards Cross, more the sort of place where families settle and stay for years.
