Bearsted has one of the best village greens in Kent, with a pond, a pub, and cricket in summer. The village centre has a handful of shops including a butchers and a greengrocers, and there are several good restaurants. Bearsted station gets you to London Victoria in under an hour. Housing ranges from period cottages near the green to large detached properties on the roads heading out towards the Downs. Holy Family School and Bearsted Primary are well regarded. It's not cheap, but you get a genuine village with a fast commute, which is a rare combination in this part of Kent.
