Harpur

Harpur ward includes the area around the Harpur Centre shopping mall and stretches into residential streets west of the town centre. The Harpur Trust, founded in the 1500s, still funds several Bedford schools and the name is everywhere. The residential parts include some pleasant Victorian streets, particularly around Lansdowne Road and the streets heading towards De Parys. It is a step down in price from De Parys but still a popular choice for families who want to be close to the centre and the better schools.
