Thamesmead is the brutalist estate built in the late 1960s and 70s on reclaimed marshland. The Bexley side is the eastern portion. Concrete walkways, lakes, and tower blocks that featured in A Clockwork Orange. Peabody took over management and there are regeneration plans in motion. The Elizabeth line at Abbey Wood has been a significant boost for the western end but the eastern parts remain isolated. It is cheap by London standards and there is a lot of green and water, but the infrastructure and design have aged badly. It divides opinion sharply.
