Wootton is a village south of Botley that has grown substantially with new housing estates over the past couple of decades. The older part around the village centre still has character, with a pub and the primary school. The newer developments are typical volume builder estates. It sits between Botley and Abingdon, connected to both by road but not brilliantly served by public transport. Boars Hill is nearby, which is one of the most expensive spots in Oxfordshire. Wootton itself is more affordable and practical, popular with young families who work in Oxford or at the Harwell campus further south.
