BN1 6 / BN1 7 / BN1 9
Two quite different areas sharing a ward. Fiveways is the junction at the top where five roads meet, surrounded by solid Edwardian and Victorian houses. It has a good deli, a few cafes, and a neighbourhood feel that's increasingly popular with families priced out of central Brighton. Hollingdean further down is more mixed, with a large council estate and a more working-class character. The recycling centre is here, which tells you something about how the council thinks of it. Improving steadily though.
