Patcham is where Brighton starts to feel suburban. 1930s semis with gardens, a proper village green, and a parish church. Hollingbury sits higher up with panoramic views across the city and the Downs. There's a big Asda and a retail park that serves the whole north of the city. The A27 runs along the top, which is convenient for driving but means traffic noise. Families like it because you get more house for your money than central Brighton and the schools are decent. It's not exciting, but it works.
