Brookmans Park is a quiet, moneyed village sitting between Potters Bar and Hatfield. Big detached houses on large plots, many dating from the 1920s and 1930s when the area was developed as a garden suburb around the railway station. Bradmore Green is the focal point, with a handful of shops, a pub, and the kind of small parade you'd expect. The station gives you a direct run into King's Cross in about 25 minutes, which is the main reason anyone moves here. Little Heath sits just to the south and is essentially the same place for practical purposes, slightly less expensive, slightly closer to Potters Bar. It's very family-oriented. Good primaries, safe streets, and enough green space that kids can roam. The trade-off is that there's not much to do locally, especially for teenagers, and you'll need a car for most things beyond the basics.
