Kilburn High Road is long, loud, and full of life. Historically Irish, now hugely diverse, with a mix of shops, restaurants and markets that reflects the community. The Tricycle Theatre (now Kiln Theatre) gives it cultural weight. Housing is mostly large Victorian terraces converted into flats, with council estates scattered throughout. Kilburn tube (Jubilee) and Brondesbury Overground are the main stations. It's not pretty and it's not trying to be. The South Kilburn estate has been undergoing regeneration for years. People who live here tend to be fiercely loyal to it.
