Wayfield & Weeds Wood

A residential area to the south of Chatham built mainly through the 20th century, incorporating the local nature reserve of Weeds Wood as a green asset. Wayfield itself runs with a parade of shops serving everyday needs. Housing is a mix of terraces and semis on roads laid out in a planned suburban grid. Families are the core community here, drawn partly by decent school options and partly by the relative affordability compared with more central Medway. Weeds Wood gives the area a green character unusual for Chatham, making it more family-friendly than its utilitarian name might imply.
