This is the Tonbridge and Malling side of Walderslade, which straddles the borough boundary with Medway. In practice it feels identical to the Medway half: late 20th century cul-de-sac estates, mostly detached and semi-detached houses built from the 1970s through to the 1990s. Walderslade Woods Country Park is the main local asset and gives the area more green space than most of Medway's suburban ring. There is no station within walking distance so you are reliant on a car, with the M2 and A229 providing the main routes out. The small parade along Walderslade Avenue (technically on the Medway side) handles the basics but anything more requires a drive to Chatham or the Blue Water shopping centres. Families are the core demographic here. Quiet streets, decent schools, and the kind of settled feel that comes from high owner-occupation and people who stay put.
