Broomfield

Broomfield sits on the northern edge of Chelmsford and still has a proper village feel despite being absorbed into the city's sprawl. The hospital (Broomfield Hospital, the main one for the area) dominates the local economy. The village centre around the church and the green is genuinely pretty. Housing is a mix of older cottages and period properties near the centre, with newer estates further out. The primary school has a good reputation. It's popular with families who want that village identity while being a short drive from Chelmsford station.
