Chesham South

The southern half includes the town centre, the station, and the streets climbing up towards Waterside and the Nashleigh Hill area. This is where the High Street shops, pubs, and the Elgiva Theatre are. The Metropolitan line terminus is here, with direct trains to Baker Street taking around 40 minutes. Housing near the centre is Victorian and Edwardian terraces, with some 1960s and 70s estates on the slopes. Waterside has a pleasant stretch along the river Chess. It feels more like a town than a commuter dormitory, which is part of the appeal.
