Chieveley is a small village just off junction 13 of the M4, with a church, a pub, and not much else in the centre. Cold Ash is a couple of miles south, perched on a ridge above Thatcham with surprisingly good views. Both are popular with families who want village life within striking distance of Newbury and the motorway. Housing is a mix of older cottages in the village cores and larger detached houses on the lanes between. There's a well-regarded primary school in Cold Ash. You're driving everywhere, but the M4 access makes the commute into Reading or beyond straightforward.
