Newbury Central

The town centre proper, around the high street, the Kennet Centre, and the canal. A mix of period townhouses, conversions above shops, and some newer apartment blocks near the wharf. You can walk to the station, the shops, and the pubs without thinking about it. The canal towpath is right there for morning runs. It is the part of Newbury that actually feels like a town rather than a commuter settlement. Parking is painful if you drive, but you probably don't need to that often.
