Prittlewell predates Southend itself. The priory ruins and the Saxon royal burial discovered in 2003 give it real historical weight. The village centre around the church and East Street still has a bit of identity separate from the wider town. Housing is a good mix of Victorian terraces closer to town and 1930s semis further north. Priory Park is one of Southend's best green spaces, with a proper cricket ground and the priory itself. Prittlewell station gives you a direct c2c line into London. It feels more residential and settled than the seafront wards.
