Eastwood is the north-western corner of the borough, bordering Rayleigh. It feels more like an inland Essex suburb than a seaside town. Lots of 1930s and post-war semis and some larger detached houses on the roads heading toward Rayleigh. Eastwood Road has its own row of shops and there is a community feel here. The catch is you are the furthest point from the seafront in the whole borough. Rayleigh station is actually closer than Southend's stations for many residents.
