Victoria

Victoria ward covers the heart of Southend's town centre and the main seafront around the pier. The High Street has the usual chain suspects plus the Victoria Shopping Centre. The seafront is where the character is: the pier, Adventure Island, the arcades, and the restaurants along the Western Esplanade. Housing is heavily weighted toward flats, many of them conversions of large Victorian seafront properties. It is the busiest, noisiest part of Southend and not where families tend to settle, but the location is unbeatable if you want to be in the middle of everything.
