Named after the old Kursaal amusement park, this is the eastern end of Southend's seafront. The Kursaal building itself is now a bowling alley but it gives the area a landmark. Housing is a mix of Victorian terraces, some converted into flats, and a handful of newer blocks closer to the front. It is more no-frills than Thorpe Bay next door, with some HMO concentration. The seafront is right there though, and the walk along to the pier is a genuine perk. Close to Southend East station on the c2c line.
