Oxshott is one of the wealthiest villages in England, full stop. Private roads, electric gates, and houses that look like they belong in a property magazine. The village itself has a small high street with a few shops, a couple of restaurants, and the Bear pub. Oxshott Heath is the real draw for day-to-day life, a proper expanse of heathland and woodland that feels miles from anywhere. The station is on the Portsmouth Direct Line, Waterloo in about 30 minutes. Crown Estate land means some roads have that unusual mix of very large houses with no street lighting. Footballers, hedge fund types, and old Surrey money all live here side by side.
