Kenley is a quiet, leafy pocket tucked into the southern edge of the borough near the Surrey border. The old RAF airfield is now common land and popular for walks. The station gets you to London Bridge in about 30 minutes. Housing is a mix of 1930s semis and some larger detached properties. It has a slightly forgotten feel, like it could be in the Home Counties rather than Greater London. There's not much locally in terms of shops, so you'll head to Purley or Coulsdon for anything beyond basics.
