Selsdon feels like a self-contained suburb perched on a hill. The local shopping parade on Addington Road has a decent selection for daily needs. Selsdon Wood Nature Reserve is a proper ancient woodland with bluebells in spring. Housing is mostly 1930s onwards, with a lot of bungalows and semis. It's not the most exciting place but that's rather the point. Families move here for quiet streets, gardens, and easy access to the countryside. The bus links to Croydon are frequent but you'll probably end up driving.
