South of Dorking along the A24, these are the satellite settlements that sit between the town and the Weald. Holmwood has a station on the Dorking to Horsham line, which is handy if you're heading south but less useful for London commuting. Beare Green is a small village with a pub and not much else. The area is wooded and feels properly rural despite being only a couple of miles from Dorking. Housing is varied, from Victorian cottages near the station to larger detached houses set back in the trees. It suits people who want to be near Dorking without being in it.
