The town centre side of Dorking, including the high street and the streets immediately around it. This is where the independent shops, cafes, and the Dorking Halls are. South Street has a separate strip of antiques shops. Dorking West and Dorking mainline stations are both within reach. Housing closer to the centre is mostly period properties, Victorian terraces and some older cottages on the narrow streets. Further south you get into more open ground heading towards Holmwood. This is the bit of Dorking that actually feels like a town rather than suburbia.
