East Acton is home to large council estates, including the substantial Old Oak Estate and the blocks along the Westway. East Acton tube is on the Central line. The Westway flyover runs through the area and shapes its character, creating a lot of noise and visual impact. It's one of the more deprived parts of the borough but also one of the most centrally located. The Old Oak regeneration area is planned nearby, which may eventually change things, but for now it's functional, diverse, and affordable. Wormwood Scrubs park is on the doorstep, which is a genuine asset.
