W7 1
Hanwell has a genuine small-town feel despite being in zone 4. The high street along the Uxbridge Road has independent shops, a few good pubs, and a real sense of community. The Hanwell flight of locks on the Grand Union Canal is lovely, and Brent Lodge Park (known locally as the Bunny Park) is popular with young families. Elizabeth line trains stop at Hanwell station, which has made a real difference to commute times. The housing is mainly Victorian and Edwardian terraces and interwar semis. It's been quietly attracting families priced out of Ealing Broadway for years. The Hanwell Carnival, running since the 1890s, is a proper local institution.
