Eaton Bray

A quiet south Bedfordshire village with an old centre around St Mary the Virgin church and the village green. Housing is a mix of older cottages, some thatched, and 20th century infill along the lanes. The primary school is the social anchor for families. There's a pub and a small village hall, but no real shops to speak of, so Dunstable or Leighton Buzzard are where you go for day-to-day errands. The Chilterns are right on the doorstep, with Dunstable Downs and the Whipsnade area walkable or a short drive. It feels properly rural without being isolated, since the A505 and M1 are nearby. Families and retirees are the main demographic. Not flashy, just a settled English village that does what it says on the tin.
