This covers a string of small villages along the foot of the Ridgeway escarpment, including Uffington (home of the White Horse), Childrey, and surrounding hamlets. Proper rural Oxfordshire with thatched cottages, a pub or two per village, and not much else. Uffington has a village school and the Tom Brown's School Museum. You need a car for everything. The landscape is beautiful, with the chalk downs and the Ridgeway path right on the doorstep, but daily practicalities are limited.
