This is the heart of Faversham and the bit that makes people fall for the place. The creek area with its houseboats and old warehouses has a working waterfront charm. Court Street and the market square have a genuinely good mix of independent shops, delis, and cafes. Fleur de Lis heritage centre is tucked in there too. The housing stock closer to the centre is a mix of Georgian and Victorian terraces, some lovely, some in need of work. The station is walkable from most of this area. Saturday mornings at the market feel like a proper community event, not a tourist set piece.
