Teynham is a large village on the A2 between Faversham and Sittingbourne with its own station on the Victoria line, which is its main selling point. The village has a few shops and a primary school but nothing approaching a high street. Lynsted is smaller and quieter, tucked away to the south in proper orchard country. The fruit-growing heritage is real here, not just a branding exercise. Housing in Teynham is mostly 1950s onwards along the main road, while Lynsted has more traditional cottages and farmhouses.
