Flitwick is a commuter town that grew up around the railway station. The older part near the church and Flitwick Manor has some character, but most of the housing is 1960s onwards, lots of semis and detached houses on quiet cul-de-sacs. The high street is functional rather than charming, a Co-op, takeaways, a few independents, but it covers the basics. Flitwick Manor grounds are the local green space and surprisingly good for a walk. The station is the main selling point, Thameslink into St Pancras in about 45 minutes. Families move here for the space you get compared to somewhere further south on the same line, and the primary schools have a decent reputation locally.
