North Downs East

This covers the villages and scattered settlements on the North Downs above Folkestone, including Hawkinge and parts toward Lyminge. Hawkinge is the main settlement, a former Battle of Britain airfield that has grown into a sizeable village with new-build estates, a primary school, and local shops. The surrounding countryside is chalk downland, part of the Kent Downs AONB. You need a car for everything, but the trade-off is space, quiet, and proper countryside on your doorstep.
