Stanborough covers the southern fringe of Watford, running down towards the A1(M) and the lakes at Stanborough Park. The park and its sailing lake are the main draw, popular with families at weekends. Housing is a mix of postwar semis and some newer estates, fairly uniform and unremarkable. Garston station on the Abbey line gives you a slow trundle into Watford Junction or St Albans Abbey, but most people drive or bus to Watford Junction for the fast trains into Euston. The Orbital retail park is nearby for big-box shopping. It feels more like an edge-of-town residential patch than a place with its own centre. Quiet, functional, not much in the way of local shops or cafes.
