Mottingham feels like the very edge of London. The 1930s Mottingham Estate was one of the LCC's big suburban projects. The streets are wide, the houses have gardens, and it's quiet to the point of being sleepy. Mottingham station has trains to Victoria and Bromley South. The local shops on Court Road cover the basics. Mottingham Farm is a city farm that kids love. It's affordable and suburban in a way that younger Londoners might find dull, but families with children appreciate the space.
