SE9 3
New Eltham is a small suburban centre between Eltham and Sidcup. The high street on Footscray Road has a decent chip shop, a few takeaways, and a Sainsbury's Local. New Eltham station runs to Charing Cross and London Bridge. The housing is predominantly 1930s semis, many with loft conversions and extensions as families try to get more space without moving further out. It's unpretentious and functional. People who live here tend to stay.
