Send is a village along the old Portsmouth Road between Guildford and Woking, with the River Wey Navigation running through. There's a village green, a well-known pub (the New Inn), and enough going on to feel like a real place rather than a dormitory. Ripley, which falls in the same ward, has a high street that punches above its weight with some good restaurants and an antiques scene. Housing is a mix of older village properties and 1960s/70s estates. The A3 is close, which is useful for getting around but means traffic noise on the eastern side. Clandon station is the nearest for trains, or you drive to Woking.
