Woodberry Down is a massive regeneration project that has been underway for years. The old post-war estate is being replaced block by block with new-build towers. The reservoirs next door are a nature reserve and a genuinely surprising piece of urban wilderness, with reed beds and herons in the middle of London. Manor House tube (Piccadilly line) is walking distance. The new buildings are dense and tall, aimed at a mix of social and private tenants. The long-term residents who've been through decades of promise about regeneration have mixed feelings. It's better connected than most of Hackney thanks to the Piccadilly line, but the area is still very much a construction site in places.
