West Green Road has a strong independent retail presence with West African, Caribbean, and Eastern European shops and restaurants. Turnpike Lane tube (Piccadilly line) is at the western end. The housing is terraced and relatively affordable. It's not an area with a polished image but it has a strong local community and some of the best value food shopping in North London.
