Plumpton, Streat, East Chiltington & St John

A collection of small villages and hamlets in the Downs north of Lewes. Plumpton is the largest, known for its racecourse and its station on the London to Lewes line. The village has a pub, a church, and a primary school. Plumpton College (agricultural) is a local institution. Streat and East Chiltington are tiny, with scattered houses and farms along quiet lanes. It's proper countryside, popular with horse owners and walkers. You need a car for everything.
