Welham Green and Hatfield South

Welham Green is a distinct village that sits between Hatfield and Brookmans Park, separated by green belt. It has its own small parade of shops, a pub, and a proper village feel despite being close to the A1(M). The housing is a mix of older cottages in the centre and 20th century estates around the edges. It works well for people who want a village base with easy road access to London and Hertfordshire. Welham Green station on the Great Northern line is a useful commuter link. The southern fringes of Hatfield bleed into this area but Welham Green itself has its own identity and resists being absorbed into the new town.
