This covers the residential streets south and west of the centre, including areas around South Hatfield and towards Ellenbrook. Much of it is classic new town housing, planned estates with green verges and cul-de-sacs. Some of the later phases have slightly more varied architecture than the original estates. Hatfield House and its parkland sit on the doorstep, which gives this part of town surprisingly good access to green space and a sense of openness you do not get elsewhere in Hatfield. Families settle here for the affordability and the space. It is quiet but not isolated.
