Upminster is Havering's most desirable area. The high street has a proper mix of shops, cafes, and restaurants, and the area around the station has a bustling feel. The District line and c2c both run from here, with trains to Fenchurch Street in about 30 minutes. Housing is predominantly 1930s semis and detached houses on wide, tree-lined roads. It's expensive for east London, but you get space, good schools, and a genuine town centre. Upminster Park and the surrounding streets are particularly sought after. Families move here for the schools, and it shows.
