Three small Wealden villages grouped together west of Heathfield. East Hoathly is the largest and has a village shop, pub, and primary school on the main road. Chiddingly has the Six Bells pub and a proper village green with a church. Waldron is even smaller. These are quiet places where you hear tractors more than traffic. Housing is mostly older cottages and farmhouse conversions with some newer infill. You need a car for everything beyond the basics.
