The high street is the real asset here. It runs for nearly a mile with proper shops rather than just charity banks and estate agents. There's a Co-op, a butchers, a greengrocers, a garden centre, and enough pubs to have a decent circuit. The housing is mostly older stock along the high street and around the common, with 1930s semis and post-war detacheds spreading out towards the edges. Henfield Common gives the centre green space. Schools are a big reason families move here. You are firmly in the countryside though. Brighton is a 20-minute drive, Horsham about the same. The nearest train is at Shoreham, which is annoying if you commute. People who live here tend to really like it, but it's not for anyone who wants urban life on the doorstep.
