Kemsing is a proper North Downs village tucked below the escarpment, with a medieval church, a village hall, a well-liked primary school, and the Wheatsheaf pub at its centre. Housing is a mix of older cottages along the lanes and some postwar estates on the fringes. The North Downs Way runs right through, so the walking is excellent. Kemsing has its own station but the service is very limited, so most commuters drive to Otford or Sevenoaks for faster trains into London. You need a car for most things beyond the village basics. It is quiet, settled, and genuinely villagey rather than just suburban.
