Knebworth is a commuter village that punches above its weight for rail connections. The station is on the East Coast Main Line with fast trains to King's Cross in under 25 minutes, which is the main reason people move here. The village itself is split between Old Knebworth, which has period cottages and lanes around the church, and the newer parts south of the railway which are mostly 1950s to 1970s semis and estates. There is a small parade of shops on Station Road and a couple of pubs, but the famous Knebworth House and its concert grounds are the landmark most people know. It is a quiet, unremarkable place to live in the best sense. Families settle and stay.
