Welwyn West

West of the old village core, this side is more residential and further from the High Street. Housing tends to be later 20th-century, with some larger detached houses on quiet roads. It is quieter than the east but you lose the walkability to the village centre and station. Still benefits from the Welwyn address and the schools. Closer to the A1(M) corridor, which is useful if you drive to work but does mean some road noise on the edges.
